Pre-intervention
At Unity, we recognize that every child goes through distinct developmental stages. It is essential for us to engage with children based on their current needs. Frequently, a child’s social and emotional growth may manifest differently at home than in a school environment. The experiences you have with your child and your family's cultural context at home can appear differently than what is observed in a school setting.
We are fortunate to have the Early Childhood Cares Program as part of our team here at Unity for over two decades.
We have an Early Childhood Care teacher assistant on site who helps children eligible for ECC programs. Additionally, an occupational therapist, speech pathologist, and an early childhood special educator come to work with the children in their program.
Inclusion holds significant importance for us, and working together with parents is crucial for pre-interventions.

We provide services to children with special health or developmental needs as long as we can adequately support them. This will be determined in collaboration with their family and other professionals involved in the child’s care. We will seek resources to support the child, their family, and our staff, including referrals for medical, developmental, or behavioral evaluations. Placement decisions for a child will depend on our capacity to meet their needs using the available resources and will be made together with the family and any relevant professionals to ensure continued support for the family.

There are occasional instances when Unity might not be the ideal choice for your child. We will collaborate with your family throughout this process, including recommending alternative placements or resources.
